Call for Domiciliary Care Expression of Interest

2017-06-21

The procurement and tender process to transfer the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion’s (DCSI) Domiciliary Care services from the State Government to a non-government provider has begun, with a call for Expressions of Interest now underway.

The call for Expression of Interest (EOI) was advertised publicly on the SA Tenders and Contracts website (www.tenders.sa.gov.au) on 20 June 2017, and will remain open until 17 July 2017.

Interested organisations are invited to submit an EOI that addresses a range of eligibility criteria. These criteria were informed by feedback from Domiciliary Care clients and staff, who provided information about what they considered important in a service provider.

Domiciliary Care is being transferred to a non-government provider in response to Commonwealth aged care reforms and in recognition of the growing need in SA for in home support for older people.

Interested organisations requiring further information should contact the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) at dtfdcsiproject@sa.gov.au

The process to transfer Domiciliary Care from the State Government to a non-government provider is being coordinated by DCSI and DTF. In March 2017, industry briefing sessions were conducted with 22 organisations who registered an interest in finding out more information about the proposed transfer of Domiciliary Care services.

The EOI process will result in a shortlist of suitable organisations. Shortlisted organisations will then be invited to participate in a Selective Request for Tender, expected to occur in September 2017.

Domiciliary Care provides quality services to older South Australians in the metropolitan area. It will continue to provide services and accept new clients as usual throughout this process.

Anyone wanting to access Domiciliary Care services should telephone 1300 295 673.
