If you are an optometrist or ophthalmologist operating in South Australia you have the opportunity to participate in GlassesSA.
GlassesSA helps South Australians obtain low cost glasses, or for those with prescribed eye conditions, low cost contact lenses. The Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) administers GlassesSA in South Australia.
The success of GlassesSA depends on the participation of optometrists and ophthalmologists (service providers) across South Australia.
As a service provider you will enter into a Service Agreement with the Minister for Communities and Social Inclusion to record and manage your administrative arrangements with the Minister.
GlassesSA is operated through a paperless system. All applications to GlassesSA are made electronically via the GlassesSA online portal by you as a service provider or a member of your staff.
As an optometrist or ophthalmologist, your business will be registered on the GlassesSA IT system and you will be provided with a copy of the GlassesSA IT system manual.
