Premier’s Women’s Directory goes online

2013-07-08

Minister for the Status of Women Gail Gago today announced that the Premier's Women's Directory is moving to a completely online system.

"For the first time members of the Directory will be able to view and edit their own data online, while women will also be able to register for the Directory online," Ms Gago said.

"It also means that any changes made are immediately available on the web search, ensuring that those looking for board candidates have the most up to date information."

The Office for Women will continue to maintain the database and will approve all amendments and new applications before they are made live.

The Premier's Women's Directory was first launched in 2004 and has since grown to over 850 members.

The new online functionality of the Premier's Women's Directory will be gradually rolled out over the coming months, while in the meantime the Directory's online search facility remains available at search.premierswomensdirectory.sa.gov.au

Minister Gago also announced that the successful applicants for Australian Institute of Company Directors scholarships – previously announced by the Premier in February this year – have been selected.

"The Scholarships will enable 25 women to attend on 23 August, 2013 the

Foundations of Directorship, Governance for Directorscourse, which is a highly respected course delivered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors," Ms Gago said.

"The Office for Women received nearly 300 expressions of interest and 95 applications for the scholarships, highlighting the need for this kind of training for women.

"The successful applicants, who are currently being notified, include a number of women from regional areas including the South East, Murraylands, Riverland and Eyre Peninsula, as well as Aboriginal women and women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds."
