A conference bringing together experts from the homelessness sector in South Australia will be held at the National Wine Centre on Monday 17 June 2013.
Minister for Social Housing Tony Piccolo says that the conference enable the sharing of vital information across the sector, resulting in positive outcomes for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
"This conference has been developed by members of the homelessness sector in partnership with the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion, specifically for those working with people affected by homelessness," Mr Piccolo said.
"As a part of the conference there is a breakfast for SA business leaders to discuss how businesses can help to address homelessness in SA.
The breakfast will be held from 7.30am and will be opened by the Minister for Social Housing, the Hon Tony Piccolo MP.
"It will provide an opportunity for local business people passionate about homelessness issues to come together and discuss how they can contribute to this important cause."
After the breakfast session, a full-day conference for people working in the homelessness sector will be held.
"The theme for the conference is Navigating the 4Cs - Communication, Co-operation, Consultation and Collaboration,' Mr Piccolo said.
"Strong partnerships between government and the not-for profit sector is key to innovation and delivery of meaningful change for those most vulnerable in our community. Collaboration is critical to the success of our programs and services.
"The conference will be an opportunity for people working in the homelessness sector to meet each other, share their ideas, hear real-life examples from their colleagues and clients and participate in group discussions.
"I encourage all local business people passionate about homelessness issues to visit the website or call (08) 8413 9024 for more information or to buy tickets."
